TBG is a valuable study tool for those seeking to leave sexual and relational brokenness in pursuit of an intimate walk with God. The material has been constructed for individual study as well as used in a group setting. Each topic is intended to challenge you to grow beyond your own limitations and find the strength in Christ. Many people have experienced the benefits of this study and are now walking in freedom from addictions, self-hatred, self-centeredness and gender confusion.
A $50 Admin fee is required for the entire program Payments go directly to Portland Fellowship for site maintenance and future developments. If you would rather just buy the book and work offline, visit our bookstore at TBG Bookstore. If you want to find a group that may be running in your area, please read the Group Program page.
Process and Procedure
You are required to find a mentor to join you through the program. A mentor is someone who has experienced life a bit longer than you and can offer spiritual guidance, practical insight, prayer, and genuine encouragement. We highly recommend it be someone of the same gender and someone that you trust. This can include a parent, a relative, a pastor, a counselor, or a friend of the family. Before you sign up, encourage him/her to come to this website and consider supporting you through this program. Mentors do not pay any fees. (If you have been asked to be a mentor and want more information on what is asked of you, visit the mentor page).
If you are under 18, please have your mentor connect with your parents to affirm your involvement.
Once you complete the intake, we will wait to hear from your mentor. Reminder, you need to personally ask them to sign up, we will not contact your mentor for you. Once he or she signs up, we will send you an email indicating that you may start.
There are 42 lessons in this the program. You will watch video teachings and write reflections online to the questions asked. Your mentor will then come and respond to your work before going on to the next lesson.
One more thing: When you finish a lesson, you will be asked to wait at least 5 days before beginning the next lesson. These 5 days are what we call: “Be Still”. Scripture says, “Be still and know that I am God”, Psalm 46:10 – and “Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him”, Psalm 37:7 and also “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still." Exodus 14:14
During the 5 days between lessons, you will receive email's each day that reflect a part of the lesson you just worked on. This will give you some questions to think about, activities to consider, and prayers to speak. You are encouraged to journal these “Be Still” items or share them with your mentor via email or in person.
Again, you will need to wait 5 days AND a response from your mentor before moving on to your next lesson.
May the Lord bless you and transform your heart and mind, as you walk through this process.
